I had my spotlights stolen so went and visited Eric. What a fantastic bloke he made the wiring safe so I could ride the bike in the knowledge it would be safe. Was a bit of a wait to get it booked in which considering the quality of the work was well worth it. Amazing price to re wire new spotlights and quadlock power supply and also delete the dreaded ABS warning lights that someone removed but couldn’t be bothered to do it properly.

                                                                                                                                                    This man is a true BMW guru and would highly recommend him to everyone for a truly professional and knowledgable service and also the price was better than I expected.

I too cannot rate Eric highly enough. After I bought my R1200GSA privately I had a major service from the local main BMW dealership to give it a once over. The main thing they found was the hole in my wallet!

A year later I took the bike to Eric for its annual service. The bike came back from Eric feeling sharper, smoother and more responsive than it had since I bought it. And it cost me so much less than it would have done at the main dealer.

Recently I had the rear shock refurbished by Eric when it failed. Again a super service at a very reasonable cost. When I picked up the bike in the evening it wouldn't start as the battery was flat. I had suspected the battery was on it's way out. Even though Eric had closed up for the day he opened up his workshop and replaced the battery there and then. Great service. Thank you.

I had an intermittent starting problem with my Honda Goldwing..., which was infuriatingly difficult to nail. Nevertheless, Eric took it on, recovered my bike (on more than one occasion), and helped me to get it sorted. I cannot rate ECM Motorcycles more highly, and look forward to continuing to use this excellent local service in the future.

A big thanks to ECM for a job well done on the 36k service and puncture repair on my K13GT. My bike has a full service history, mostly with BMW, and it was a little disconcerting to see the state of my air filter which Eric is adding to his “House of Horrors” ….. it looked as though it had not been changed EVER!! It’s great to see the care and diligence that Eric puts into his work, and his costs are VERY reasonable. My bike is running like a dream now that it can breathe…. Eric runs a K1300GT himself and he has the full BMW diagnostic kit. His rates are very reasonable and he has expertise to rival any dealer.

Having been at the end of my tether with BMW agents in recent years a contact told me of ECM Motorcycles in Findon Valley. Well here we are 18 months or so on and the service & banter just gets better & better!

Eric looks after my F800GS like it was his own & any other bike I care to throw at him having bought or borrowed it too, he always tries to fit me in asap and puts up with me hanging around while the work is completed sometimes which does give confidence as a customer I must say.

I recommend ECM motorcycles to any bikers fed up with main dealer prices and general dis-interest in customer service on riders of machines beyond their warranty period.

Just happened to spot Eric’s new van in the Worthing area and had not been happy with BMW servicing and repairs for a while - felt the high prices charged were paying for permanent revamps of their showrooms, so made contact with him.

Had an issue with an F650GS where the engine died at temperatures above 28 degrees (Prior to recent heatwave had only happened twice in 13 months). Needed it fixed as we had a three week tour of Europe planned. Eric and diagnostic identified issue with fuel pump. Eric sourced part, carried out repair and did a full service for a very reasonable price and with real care.

2,100 miles later and French motorway temperatures of 33.5 and no problems with the bike at all.

Highly recommend ECM.

I would like to thank you for most excellent work you have carried out on my bike; the ride home on Monday was a joy, it is as if you had carried out a heart replacement and given the bike a new lease of life (and no coolant leaks!).

This bike has always impressed me by its overall performance; the power and control never lets you down but after your magic touch, there seems to be a new degree of “urgency” and willingness to go-almost is if she wants to fly!

I have been on the lookout for a while for an experienced independent mechanic to help maintain my old R1150GS Adventure, someone with the necessary expertise  and knowledge one can trust with specialist jobs. I have had an issue with the final drive bearing and also needed my front callipers refurbishing, generally checking the bike over and fine tuning to prepare for a bigger trip. I found him on the internet and gave him a call and immediately he was very helpful trying to accommodate my needs and wishes. On my first visit to assess the bike, his knowledge became evident as he identified that the bearing needed replacing, but despite that he was  able to adjust the old bearing to make the rear wheel play virtually unnoticeable. When it comes to my bike, I am quite fussy, but Eric works with great care and is very thorough and immediately one feels the bike is in good hands.

He checks on exact torque settings for every bolt, has got all the specialist tools and spares at hand and when it came down to change the brake fluid on my ABS machine he knew exactly how to go about it. He even allowed me in his workshop to watch him work on my bike, which builds up a lot of trust. He was also happy to answer any questions I had while he was working. As I live 65 miles away it was also very convenient for me to get the bike seen to on the same day to avoid any costly backwards and forward travelling manoeuvres. Eric did a final check and test ride on my bike before handing it back to me. I had a very smooth ride home. I can only highly recommend him to any BMW owner who is looking for a skilled value for money BMW motorcycle expert.

Just wanted to put up a review for Eric's fantastic service.
Since moving to Worthing getting all the way up to Steptoe's was a bit of a mission. Bit of searching on the forum and I found this post.
I've since used Eric twice, one for a full service, brakes (discs and pads) and the bike ran like a new bike again.
Couple of weeks ago I had the alternator go - diagnosed again through this wonderful forum - 
Eric sourced a replacement, came to my house to check it would work and see for himself if my diagnosis was correct and a couple of days later turned up with a bike trailer, picked the bike up and sorted it. Even brought the bike back.
His price, both times was exceptionally reasonable and the service, second to none. He's a really nice down to earth guy too.
I would 100% recommend him to any owner of a BMW in the Sussex area and beyond, top bloke, very happy customer. Will continue to use his services for as long as he is on the tools

Well, just had my 2006 R1200RT serviced with Eric at ECM.

Can't recommend him enough, I have the extended warranty, so Eric used Genuine BMW parts, did the full annual BMW recommended service as per BMW , so no issues with the warranty.

Brilliant service Eric, first class job too, and you get to watch/ask questions/get advice. Very reasonable on costs, lets face it lots cheaper on labour than BMW. (Seems BMW are happy charging the same for bikes as for cars these days...)

Well worth the trip down to Eric, 1.5hr ride each way for me, enjoyed the ride too so was a bonus. Bonus entertainment too from Eric's wonderful daughter, not at all shy for one so young and very chatty.... I even got a 'special' sticker that has pride of place on my numberplate....

Don't be shy and give Eric a try ... hey that rhymes!!! no seriously great service friendly advice, makes a good cuppa too...

I must say that I was most impressed with the job done AND the price, and would certainly use Eric Anderson again. If like me you are fed up with main dealer prices, give him a try !

Just to say that after looking for a while for a local specialist I asked ECM motorcycles to fix my R65 bobber which was running on only one cylinder. I'm in Emsworth and Eric picked the bike up while I was away on business and brought it back the day I got home. It now runs really well. He knows his stuff even with old bikes like mine. Give him a try. Thoroughly recommended!

Another forum member recommended this independent mechanic to me so I duly booked the 30,000 mile service on my RT.
Being a ex mechanic myself (well as a lad anyway) I was keen to watch and learn as I am new to BMW bikes.
Eric had no problem with this so one bright sunny morning in August I took the bike to his house/workshop and for the next 5 hours (including several cups of tea) I stood and chatted and learnt from a very friendly and knowledgable guy who didn't seem to mind my occasional dumb question. So much better than dealing with some of the untrained monkeys on service desks in dealerships who sole reason for existence seems to be to get the maximum amount of money possible out of you! I was quoted £65 just for the brake fluid change! And that dealer (in Brighton) had carried out the 24000 mile service where it should have been done anyway.
And at the end the total bill £164-44 including all parts and oils inc transmission/final drive, and 4 hours labour at £25 an hour.
He is based in Findon, West Sussex, and I will defiantly be using him again.

Just had my bike back from service too. Eric fitted mt 2010 RT in at short notice as I'm off soon on a trip. It was my first visit after reading recommendations on here. Plesent chap and reasonable charges with good documentation of work done. Nice to be able to discuss what needed to be done and he even sorted out my faulty cruise control.
The bike is running so sweetly now.
I'm back to him soon for some aux electrical work. He has tyre fitting facilities too if you need that.
